Frappucino For Thursday Night

Filed under: Uncategorized — urbandumpsterdiver @ 8:38 pm

Had to take my car in today for an oil change. With all the driving, stopping and starting, it’s important to take good care of my truck. It’s an older car, but it runs good, that’s all that matters.

Decided to go daytime diving. No one in the back alleys, which was good for me. Found:

2 skeins of yard
1 box of chocolate cherries
7 bottles of vanilla frappucino
1 new container of shower gel (a gal’s gotta smell good right?)
1 plastic basket with handles. At first I thought something was wrong with it. Nope just dirty. Cleaned it off with hot soapy water and it’s lovely.
1 plastic rake and shovel for pets.
2 pairs of underwear
1 container of new headphones

Last but not least, found tons of patterns, but they were all soaked. I don’t know if it rained in that part of the state but they were ruined. What a bummer, I could have retrieved those and gave those away to the Salvation Army or the Goodwill.

  1. I am wondering if the underware is new in packages? No Way I would keep used ones.. I have to draw the line someplace. I noticed that Goodwill places will sometimes sell the nicer bras but very few panties and some places won’t sell ANY. Kids socks and onesies..but those
are washed pretty well. People throw away the darndest things..why brand new amazes me. Maybe those were gifts they didn;t want who knows.

  2. Hey Carol, the underwear were 3 to a pack and one was missing (from a retail store I frequent). They’re my size so they’ll be washed in the washer and they’ll be fine. Everything I’ve found in the trash, pillow cases, underwear, I wash and I’ve never ever had a bedbug or any other type of sanitary program. I’d never take used underwear, that’s too icky.

  4. Hi Yeah I thought so about the packaged stuff..how cool to find your size too!
BBugs I shudder at the thought of them.. I heard they are hard to get rid of if you get an infestation. Dumpsters here hardly ever have a mattress taken.. People like to leave the couches, beds and easy chairs be..just in case. Winter time is not good in Michigan for finding a lot esp if the dumpster is open lid and snow etc gets in there. I imagine people in warmer climates get rid of a lot of stuff all year round.

  5. Carol,

You can find a ton of food in Michigan, especially food thrown out behind grocery stores. If the temperature is near freezing and they just threw the meat out, you should be ok. It’s not a good idea to look for meat in warmer climate as there is no way of knowing how long the meat was there. I’d keep an eye out for meat thrown away at the supermarket.
