Well ladies and gentleman, we’re all still alive, no destruction of the earth. It’s just plain cold here where I am. The wind certainly has a bite.
Found an entire box tonight of chips. The bulk of the big bags are going to the local church/food bank. The smaller chips are going along with us on our road trip to our house near the coastline.
We found about 6 pairs of new sunglasses (Disneyland and Barbie brand) for the little ones.
The grape and orange soda will go to the younger ones. We found a 12 pack of the non-name brand a few nights ago.
On another note. Tonight on the way back from the store this young kid had a neon green sign that said Yard sale in big letters. So we stopped. He was about 9-10 years old. Cutest darn kid you’d ever see. His little hair was so blond it was white. He had some VHS tapes, a game set, a boombox and a small color TV for sale. The only thing we really needed was a TV. He wanted $5 for the TV. He probably wanted to sell it as he’d gotten a new one for Xmas.
My husband looked at him askance and said in a teasingly way, does this thing work? Oh yes sir, in fact I’ll let you have it for $4. We both said sold! Brought it up, hooked up the digital box converter I’d purchased 4 years ago and we get a few measly channels. I don’t have Cable TV as I watch most of my shows online. So now I have a few news channels and I can watch my favorite show nightly, Seinfeld. I know, I know, the show is old but I still love it. I’ve watched every episode a gillion times and I still love the show.
All in all a good winter solstice night indeed.
