Hot Weather – Different Diving

Filed under: Uncategorized — urbandumpsterdiver @ 5:33 pm

Now since the weather is getting warmer, uncooked food is too dangerous to take, UNLESS, you get it just as it’s thrown out, which is impossible to do (unless you stake out the dumpsters all night). Free food isn’t worth getting sick or contracting food poisoning.

There is a local distributor that is throwing out daily packages of peanuts and chips. Sometimes we get trail mix, other times just chips. These are good snacks to travel with or take in your car. A lot of times if I have a good snack in the car, I’m not as tempted to stop at a fast food joint.

Fast food – bad for your health, your waistline and your wallet. A lot of these fast food joints waste food, pay their employees garbage wages and treat them as if they were disposable kleenexes.

Thank God I had a small package of trail mix and a banana with me. I’d been out all day running errands and by the time I got home I was famished. I was tempted to stop at a local fast food joint. I’m glad I didn’t. I just drank some cold water and had a trail mix package (one I’d found diving) with my fruit.

Came home, made some home made chicken tacos. And now to a mango margarita.

  1. I try to keep canned chicken in the car. That can’t spoil due to heat. It’s also cheaper than fast food.
